its about a family moving house from England to France. This is their arrival.
They stood on the hot tarmac together, staring over the garden gate at their new house. Awkwardly clutching her backpack, Nash felt her hopes dip slightly. It didn’t look very impressive: a ramshackle building in grey stone with a cracked terracotta tiled roof, all the walls covered in snake-like vines, as though the house wanted to hide itself. It appeared to lean to one side, and one of the shutters was hanging askew, the blue paint blistered and peeling in the sun. There was a veranda with a few battered wicker chairs, and faded cushions were strewn everywhere with stuffing coming out of them. As promised, there was a small swimming pool, half-filled with brackish brown water, shadowed by an ancient olive tree, gnarled and twisted over like an old man in pain. Sue staggered forward and swung a suitcase over the gate onto the crumbling cement of the footpath, hindered by Charlie’s noisy complaints. “I’m thirsty! And that water tastes funny! Let go of me!” His face was snotty and tear-streaked, and Natasha felt ready to slap him.

The description is well placed and the needful dialogue came in time.
I saw no misspelled words and your punctuation is correct. Something you may wish to know I’ll quote from Strunk and White’s, “The Elements of Style”:
Thanking you in advance. This sounds as if the writer meant, “It will not be worth my while to write to you again.” In making your request, write “Will you please,” or “I shall be obliged.” Then, later, if you feel moved to do so, or if the circumstances call for it, write a letter of acknowledgment.
I suggest you get the booklet, “The Elements of Style.” You will thank me later.

This is actually very good. I rarely answer these questions because mostly there’s just no point. A couple of lines do read a bit awkwardly. I would probably change the line about the cushions. You could just drop the part about the stuffing or indicate that in another way, like by calling them faded and threadbare. As it is it just doesn’t sound right to me. I would probably make two sentences out of the pool and the olive tree. You can’t really be hindered from a physical action by someone elses complaints so I would change that out a little. You could either say something like ‘hindered by Charlie, who was complaining noisily’ or change it even more, to something like ‘irritated by Charlie’s whining, Sue …etc’
All in all though, this is good work. Much better than most that shows up here. Please don’t take my comments to be unkind, I really think you’re doing well and these are minor quibbles. Nice job.
